Room 1
Welcome to week 9 of term 4.
Wow, what a big week we had this week. On Monday we got to make reindeer food ready to feed Santa's reindeer on Christmas Eve.
On Wednesday we had a Christmas party in room 1. We got to decorate our own plates and hats to wear to the party.
Look at all the yummy food we had.
The best part was our special visitor, Santa!
On Friday we got to make salt dough Christmas decorations with room 23. We need to let them dry over the weekend, and hopefully we can paint them on Monday afternoon.
School for 2014 is nearly over. Only two more days next week to go. Don't forget to come along to our prize giving assembly at 9.30am on Monday 15th December.
A big thank you to all the teachers and parents who have regularly checked out this blog for room 1. I really appreciate it. Almost time to pass this awesome class onto their new teacher for 2015. I've really enjoyed getting to know and work alongside these amazing kids. I hope you all have a safe and merry Christmas and a fantastic new year - Miss Rushbrook.

Good luck to each and every one of you for the future. You have all made my 2014 fantastic!

Week 8, Term 4
Room 1
Welcome to week 8 of term 4. This week Gail started School.
It is the first week of December, and the first week of Summer. It has been pretty hot in room 1 so we talked a lot about one of our favourite things in summer....ice cream!
Look at our ice cream artwork we created. We finger painted one scoop, and scraped designs over thick paint for the other scoop.
These are all on display in room 1 if you want to come and have a look.
We also write about our favourite ice cream. Here are some of our stories.
I am eating ice cream. Its is chocolate with a cherry on top. Bailey
I like eating strawberry ice cream. It is yummy. Caleb
I am eating my ice cream. I like strawberry ice cream. Dehztanee
Next week is a big week, we have our class party (with special visitor...) and the three way conferences with Miss Rushbrook.

Week 7, Term 4
Room 1
Welcome to week 7 of term 4. This week Walton started School.
This week we learnt about evaporation. It is a big word to say! It is part of the water cycle, where the sun heats up the water, turns it into teeny tiny particles that we can't see and it moves up into the sky to form clouds. We became scientists again and did an experiment to see how evaporation worked.
First we poured some water onto the concrete and drew around it.
Then we went back later lunch to see if the water was still there. It wasn't! It had evaporated into the sky and the concrete was dry. It was pretty cool.
We then watched a movie about the water cycle and learnt that it keeps going around and around and around. Once the water is in the clouds it builds up. The clouds get too heavy and then it rains and the water comes back to the ground. The sun can then heat it up again and it goes back up to the sky. Amazing stuff huh!
That's all for this week, guess what...It'll be summer next week!

Week 6, Term 4
Room 1
Welcome to week 6 of term 4. This week Presely started School, and Charli came back from Australia!
On Thursday we had our cross country. We had been training for it for two weeks, and finally the day came. It was sunny and a bit windy but we were still excited to run. Check out the photos.
Here come the boys!
And the girls!
Bailey came second out of all the 5 year old boys, good job Bailey!
Then Whaea Barb decided that some parents and teachers needed to run too, so their race was next!
That's all for this week, have a good weekend.
